FAQ

THINGS TO EXPECT

Where Should I park?

Garnish Kitchen is located at 1314 West Davis Street in Oak Cliff.  We have parking spaces in front or on the side streets behind the building.

What is your cancellation Policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, you may do so as long as you provide us with at least 7 days notice.  Garnish Kitchen will provide you with credit towards any available class of your choice.

Should I eat before class?

We would love to have you join us before or after class in our market.  You will be able to feast on anything you create during class, but not all classes create a full meal.

Do I need to bring anything to class?

Garnish Kitchen provides everything you need.

Should I arrive early?

Yes! Please feel free to arrive about 10-15 minutes early to find parking and get situated.  We cannot accommodate arrivals after the scheduled start time, even if you call ahead. The teacher may not be able to repeat the health and safety information explained at the beginning of the lesson. The teacher may not be able to provide a second demonstration for what you have missed without having an impact on other learners. We cannot refund or rebook any late arrivals.

How long are classes?

Classes last around 3 hours, unless otherwise noted.

Are beginners welcome?

Our classes are full of experience and information for all levels, so beginners as well as more seasoned chefs are welcome in our kitchen.

What is your typical class size?

We usually host 16 guests.  However, we can adjust the class size for special events and private classes.

Are classes hands-on?

Unlike other cooking schools with classes that are primarily demonstration-based, all of Garnish Kitchen classes are completely hands-on!  Our students will learn techniques and skills by actually practicing them in a working, state-of-the-art kitchen.

What should I wear?

We recommend that you wear practical clothing, including shoes that cover your toes, a minimal amount of jewelry and hair tied back where necessary.
